Promise Keepers 2005

Me and nine other guys headed out on Friday October 21st for Promise Keepers in Denver. It was a long, yet beautiful , drive out there. Once again it was a awsome experience, but with a few speed bumps. It only made us appreciate the experience that much more.

The main obstical we encountered was out hotel. We go t out there and found out that they had lost our reservations. This even though I talked to them a couple of times earlier in the week. At first they weren't going to be helpful. But finally they gave us rooms, even better rooms than we originally reserved, for the same price.

Then the next morning we found out they didn't have the continental breakfast that they had promised. We talked to several others who had similar problems with the hotel. At least it was within walking distance of the Pepsi Center. It also had a nice view of the city as you can see in the photos.

As for the rest of the conference it was great. Their is nothing like 13,000 men worshiping the Lord. The Newsboys were great on Friday night. We even had front row seats because me and Loren volunteered during the alter call. Saturday was just as good. The highlights included the comedian Brad Stine and the singing of How Great Thou Art by all of the men. This rendition of this great hymn gives me goose bumps every year when it is sung. This was all topped off Sunday when we went to church at Denver First Church of The Nazarene before we headed back. Reggie Dabbs, the MC of Promise Keepers, was the uest speeker. That was a pleasant suprise. To top the whole weekend off, the Broncos and Chragers both lost to help the Chiefs out (since they won).

All in all it was a great time (tinged with some sadness on my part, more about that in another post). The photos show this. 'Till next time. -THE GREAT ONE
