LOOKING BACK

2006 is almost gone. Did you accomplish everything you wanted to this year? Did you stick to your new year resolutions? Do you even remember what they were? That is why I like to write mine down in my journal. That way I can look back on them during the year to see how I am doing. I try to make mine simple and 2006 was no exception. Mine were the following:

  • Grow in my relationship with God
  • Get more involved in my church
  • Strengthen friendship with my friends
  • Walk 1200 miles

I did good for the most part, but still could have done better. I did get more involved at church and grow with in my relationship with the Lord. Even though at times I did feel miles from Him, I did mature in my walk none the less. I finally hit my walking millage last week after slacking a little for the last two months.

There were many highlights for the year. Most revolve around my church life. Helping with the Passion play was fun. As was helping with concessions at Hummer Park during football season and the other various outreach programs that we did. My Thursday morning breakfasts with some of the guy from church has been a real blessing also. And of course I can't forget Promise Keepers which was great as usual. My Memorial Day cookout was a success also. The family Christmas was a another highlight of the year. I almost forgot that I won my Bum's won my fantasy baseball league even though they did let me down in football this year.

So here is to 2006 as it ends and let's hope 2007 will be a good year also. 'TILL NEXT YEAR!

THE GREAT ONE
